For me it went a little too fast and especially working up towards the end. There are a few issues for me, I have to admit to that. Like when John notices that certain body parts of Lucas are really appealing. Well things change when John starts seeing Lucas in a slightly different way after helping him out with a plumbing issue.īecause they are pretty familiar with each other, having known each other for years, things progress pretty quickly when both give in to their mutual attraction. The thing is Lucas has been in love with John for ages but John was married to a woman and only ever dated woman so no chance you would say right? Then we have John, who Lucas has knows almost his whole life as he is his dad’s best friend. who is just an amazingly sweet guy, and he’s full of joy and enthusiasm. There is romance, sweetness, sexiness and family issues…plus a whole lot of love. This is a different side of author Kiki Clark and I liked it a lot.Īs the blurb says this is a low angst contemporary novel. This was a surprising read I have to say. Laying Pipe is a low-angst, contemporary romance full of heat, laughs, and a guaranteed HEA. If there’s a chance I can have something real with John, I have to go for it. I know my dad won’t like it if he finds out, but we’re both adults. John, who’s only ever dated women, can’t seem to figure out he isn’t supposed to stare at certain parts of my very male body. Just shows up, flashes his knee-weakening smile, and leaves.Īfterward, I notice John watching me with heat in his eyes sometimes. How can I not fall for someone as sweet and caring and attractive as John? Especially after he comes and fixes a leaking pipe in my basement.
